Why are None of the GOP Candidates Using Infographics?

Obama uses them. People love them. They spread the message in the easiest possible way and more importantly in the most sharable possible way. Why are none of the GOP candidates using them?

There is no easier way to spread a lot of information in a way that is easily digestible than through visualizations. If you go to the GOP candidate sites or even visit their Twitter pages, they’re asking people to download PDFs or read page after page of policy recommendation. Ron Paul is, at least, posting things in a shorter format, but even then they’re not visually stunning or eye-opening in any way.

With the budgets that these candidates have, doesn’t it make sense to spend the $2500 or so to produce and distribute a strong infographic. Here’s Obama’s latest one:

Our partners have created hundreds of infographics and we’ve distributed them to thousands of publications online over the past 2 years, yet none of the GOP candidates have ever inquired. At first I assumed that their campaign managers had gone with smaller companies before realizing that they simply weren’t using them at all.

It’s almost 2012. Social media is big. Visualizations are big. How can the GOP expect to win next year if they aren’t putting out content that gets tens of thousands of retweets and Facebook shares and is seen by millions of people? At the price, there’s simply no better way to spread the message, but they’re not doing it.

Shame on you Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney, Ron Paul and the rest. You’re missing out on easy wins.
