If you have been waiting for what seems like forever to watch The Hobbit raise your mouse.

It has been a long journey that we have traveled since the final LOTR trilogy ended and have been awaiting to revisit the Shire once again and today, today is THAT day, where elves, dwarves and Hobbits gather together once again and are able to venture into the minds of J.R.R. Tolkien and Peter Jackson to have our childhood characters breathe life upon a movie screen while we chomp on popcorn and share a memory with our kids of today.

Everywhere you turn you will see “The Hobbit” trending, from Twitter to Google+ and without needing a trending section, Facebook is certainly sharing many photos and status updates that are flooding news feeds with something regarding the Lord of the Rings or The Hobbit films. This day has been anticipated by many science fiction fans and those who are hard core stood in-line last night to see the very first viewing of The Hobbit and reviews have been good and bad to this first of what director, Peter Jackson is looking to also make into a trilogy out of the one book written by J.R.R. Tolkien.

Whether you are yay or nay for a trilogy, you are most certainly talking about it and this is one beauty that Social Media can bring, a topic a mass amount of people can unite about, relate to and share in the experience together. It is always amazing to see words light up social networks and blogs regarding a conversational topic and today it just so happens to be The Hobbit, easily turning Social Media into our very own version of The Shire.
