There’s something that the United States could learn from Israel when it comes to dealing with radical Islamic extremism. When Israel is attacked, they find a target affiliated with the attacker and they deliver retribution. When the United States is attacked, we point fingers and call for gun control.
I’ll cut straight to the chase and keep it short. Would a radical Islamic terrorist be able to kill or injure over 100 people in a public place that wasn’t in a gun-free zone? What if 2% of the 300+ people in the club were responsible gun owners carrying firearms? Could lives have been saved? Most likely, yes.
There is a lot of talk around the country about closing immigration altogether, particularly for Muslims, and on the surface it can seem like a good idea. The biggest reason it’s a terrible idea is because it will dramatically increase the amount of radicalization of Muslims and even non-Muslims who are already in the country. In other words, our knee-jerk reaction to terrorism will increase the threat of terrorism in the country.
One of the most common arguments made by those who promote obtuse domestic spying and reduced individual privacy for American citizens is that if we have nothing to hide, we have nothing to worry about. There are plenty of people in Washington DC who espouse these concepts, who believe that the NSA and law enforcement should be given free rein on their activities in order to keep us safe.
There’s a stark difference in the way that liberals like Attorney General Loretta Lynch and conservatives think when it comes to stopping terrorism and ending the unholy rise of the Islamic State. For conservatives, it’s a matter of recognizing the enemy and doing something about it. For Lynch, it’s all about being cautious, halting hate-speech, and running marathons.
Between the influx of illegal immigrants to the risks of terrorists coming across the southern United States border, the need for security is a polarizing political topic. A group of citizens called the Arizona Border Recon have been making a stand against illegal immigration for a while but have now turned their attention towards the risks of terrorist infiltration.
Let’s state a fact. Some will say that it’s not a fact, but I’ll demonstrate why it is indeed a fact here shortly. The fact is this: if the United States continues with its current policy regarding the Islamic State, there will be a major terrorist attack on American soil perpetrated directly by the Islamic State or its supporters.
There’s a progressive propaganda backlash that’s very disturbing. The push is to make people who are against allowing Syrian refugees appear to be racists. It’s not the mainstream media narrative that scares me. It’s the fact that citizens are really pushing this agenda on social media in a form of shaming that can actually have an influence over perspectives.
When you tell the average American that the United States funded, armed, and trained the groups of “freedom fighters” that eventually became al Qaeda, most will think that it’s a conspiracy theory. The reality is that it’s been acknowledged by the government but only loosely covered in mainstream media.
