There seems to be a lot of confusion about what Donald Trump and Ted Cruz truly stand for as potential Presidents. Trump gets all of the attention from the media and his narrative is painted in colors that are often out of alignment with reality. We thought we’d take our figurative labeling machine and describe the candidates as they truly are.
In politics, credibility is arguably the most important trait that people look for in a candidate. They might rate other issues higher, but the reality is that all of the other issues have to be seen through the lens of whether or not the voter believes a candidate is telling the truth. This is what has been fueling the Rubio/Trump tag teaming on Ted Cruz by repeatedly calling him a liar.
To his fans, Donald Trump can do no wrong. To discerning voters who look at policies, history, and realities that go beyond showmanship and a sales pitch, it’ll take more than ambitious claims and unhinged attacks to demonstrate his worthiness of being made the most powerful person on the planet. We need to know that he’s going to deliver on what he promises.
As the GOP nomination race reaches its hottest points, now is the time for his faithful supporters to do everything we can to help. That means voting and assisting others with their votes. That means educating; in a society that craves bite-sized bits of information, the general voting body lacks the knowledge to vote appropriately. It means donating; the biggest problem that previous conservatives have had is that they ran out of money to operate their campaigns. Most importantly, it means acting.
The world of politics is one big dirty game when things are normal. When a man like Donald Trump is inserted into the equation, it turns into a combination of mud wrestling and a bloodbath. There are always casualties when Trump gets involved in anything. In his run for President, the casualties are truth, decency, and American values.
The United States is in the most precarious position it has been in since the Vietnam War. We witnessed the degradation from the inside being perpetrated by the forces of the left that could have destroyed the Republic if Ronald Reagan had not been elected in 1980. Today, we’re seeing a different type of degradation that is being initiated from the top rather than the grassroots. Today, we need another man like Reagan, a conservative who is willing to stand up to the corruption that has befallen the nation at every level.
Donald Trump is a psychological genius without peer. That may not be the first thing that comes to mind when listing his strengths and weaknesses, but as it turns out it’s absolutely true. I had a hard time believing it until I watched a video and started reviewing his speeches, interviews, and debates.
Very little has actually changed with the importance of Supreme Court appointments for the next President other than the fact that Antonin Scalia’s death has brought it into the spotlight. Even before his death, this was hugely important. Now, more people are aware.
Faith has become a central point of this election cycle to the point that Donald Trump has attacked the very Christianity that Ted Cruz and Ben Carson espouse. It is clear based upon his actions and statements that the Bible is nothing more than a campaign prop. For some reason, many conservative Christians are so spellbound by his rhetoric that they fail to see the truth.
There’s a narrative being built by mainstream media, particular Fox News, that Marco Rubio has a chance of winning the GOP nomination. Everyone “in the know” realizes that this is beyond a longshot. For all intents and purposes based upon the primary and caucus schedule, it would take an absolute miracle for that to happen.
