LinkedIn. 100,000,000. We (Finally) Get It.

100 million LinkedIn

After going years without much coverage, LinkedIn has finally grabbed our attention in a big way. First, we got a nice batch of LinkedIn tips earlier this week. Then, we got a nice LinkedIn infographic sent to us. Now, we found another from the LinkedIn blog itself. It’s a LinkedIn lovefest at Soshable.

Obvious names fill the LinkedIn list of most represented companies: eBay, Apple, Amazon… Campbell’s? Yes, the king of soup is one of the most represented companies on the list. Other offbeat facts that the infographic tells us include:

  • There is a “Martini Whisperer” job listed. One.
  • Daytime is for professional profile views while the evening is ripe for mobile connections.
  • Brazil is exploding with tremendous growth on LinkedIn.

Here’s the Infographic. Click to enlarge.

  1. It’s actually quite impressive and amazing to look at the growth numbers at sites that hit milestones like this. LinkedIn is def. one of those social sites that provides a tremendous amount of value.

Great article! I am in a communication and technology class at the College of Charleston, and I agree with you that social media is exploding in such a way that job recruiting is now done via the Internet. Throughout this semester, it has really come to my attention, especially as a senior, that having a LinkedIn account is crucial! The business world has caught up to our generation, and is expecting us to be on top of our game with using social media. It is extremely convenient for students to get their name and resumes out to anyone on the Internet. This could be very beneficial, or it has the potential to be disastrous if the user does not know how to effectively use the social network site. The key to using social media is actually knowing how to use it to its highest potential. This article justifies the importance of being involved online and having a presence there as well!

Really interesting article. I’m not a member of LinkedIn but being a senior in College and after reading this article it is becoming fairly obvious that I need to join the LinkedIn trend. It is a perfect networking tool combined with a popular and useful social network. This article explains the importance of social networks in general and how fast this particular network is growing and becoming a potential powerhouse like Facebook and Twitter. Social media is becoming so dominant and certain “lucky” websites are taking over the business and consumer world with their heavy traffic and users. Very cool and eye-opening article about this up and coming social network.
