These are great stats to know. I did not realize that more than 96% of Wikipedia pages rank in Google’s top 10 search results. Thanks for sharing.
Love these stats. Now, I wonder why when it comes to doing a research paper, some professors don’t accept citations from Wikipedia as it is labeled as something inaccurate for the mere fact that it is kept and updated by the masses. What’s your stand on this?
I can well believe the statistics for Wikipedia and I use it as my no 1 resource for primary research. There are some instances when you type in a related keyword to the topic you get conflicting information which is probably why some professors don’t accept citations.
Good to know that I belong to the 50% of women who look for information on Wikipedia. I turn to Wikipedia as verification/clarification for some of the subjects I write. Thanks for sharing this nice infographic about it.
If…
69% of users have completed college.
52% are currently on it
41% have a high school diploma
and 30% haven’t finished high school…
that means 192% of users have some education
Wonderful, isn’t it?
And before someone points those percentages overlap, since users with a college degree are a subset (and therefore fewer) than those having a HS diploma.
