100,000,000 Views on YouTube - Avril’s “Girlfriend” is There

With the help of extremely ambitious and clever fan clubs, Avril Lavigne’s “Girlfriend” video is on the brink of hitting 100,000,000 views. It is moving so fast that by the time you’re reading this, it’s probably already in the exclusive 9-digit league.
Just a few months ago, “Evolution of Dance” had held the top spot for a long time. While it will still reach 100 million, it won’t be able to do it before Girlfriend.
What does this say about the state of YouTube? Of buzz marketing? Of the Internet in general? Not much, but it’s a milestone that nobody has reached before (legally) and should be noted.
Some will scream that the record was fabricated, that her fan clubs using questionable techniques to pad the numbers was a breach of YouTube’s Community Guidelines. Whether that is the case or not is up for debate, but in the end, isn’t that what YouTube is supposed to be about? It’s a way for people to share videos. Whether they are aggressively sharing them or not isn’t the important part.
All that is important at this point is the achievement. Way to go, fans!

SHE’S ALREADY HIT 100 MILION+ ^_^
[…] - Here’s the story Congrats to Avril and the ABA members who helped her. Here’s the story about Avril breaking 100,000,000 posted last […]
People can debate fabrication all they want, but in order for them to provide evidence, they’d need to have some. The statistics and numbers don’t lie, and there have been no suspcious or unnatural changes to the view counts. It has slowly and steadily climbed to #1 and to 100 million.
Suspicious activity is shown in the video I provided for the Fan Cheat HOAX article. And these two videos have again raised question. It appears that those who had hopes of these videos reaching 100 million 1st by any means made a last ditch effort which resulted in an epic fail:

Either they threw in the towel or youtube might have implimented further restrictions. The point of this is to show, suspicious changes like that are clear evidence that views are being automated or fabricated by some means. The only way I can think of for this type of change to occur is to massively distribute the video by embedding it on other webpages, in effect giving it publicity which would raise interest, and that could account for for the increase, but the sudden decrease? Only if the embedded videos played automatically and then every page was mysteriously removed from the internet.
Anyway, as the Girlfriend video has embedding disallowed, it stands to reason it’s that much more difficult to use some automating system. However, 7 of the 8 all time most viewed videos at youtube are music videos. It seems only natural that the artist who’s been most successful in sales, has a huge world tour and a ton of publicity would probably score more hits than her competitors.
I think Avril deserves the no. 1 spot because YouTube has disabled the counts used by automated systems and has deleted all of those views, additionally Avril’s videos are not embedded anywhere else but in YouTube, unlike Evolution of Dance’s video which is embedded all over the internet. It is quite amazing that Avril’s video has managed to rack up that many views without embedding, If Avril’s video had been allowed to be embedded by RCA it would have already far surpassed the Evolution of dance video long ago.
Also the Evolution of Dance video has been out far longer than Avril’s video and it has caught up in record time, proving the immense popularity of the song worldwide.
Avril’s song Girlfriend was the most legally bought and downloaded song of 2007.
Furthermore, Avril was the best selling female artist in the world in 2007 according to http://www.worldwidealbums.net/2007.htm
And Avril Lavigne now has the most NO. 1 Top 40 Hits This Decade. Avril Lavigne has ascended to a lofty pedestal: The 22-year-old now has the most No. 1 top 40 hits this decade at “five” and is the No. 2 artist in the 14-year history of Nielsen BDS, behind Mariah Carey’s six chart-toppers. —Chuck Taylor (Billboard.com)Source: http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/content_display/reviews/singles/e3i6337374c02990aa382432d13494ab554
