If you have a blog (I hope you do) then you already know you need to have an “about” section to let people know who you are and what your blog is about. As we get more personal we need to make our blogs more personable by adding human touches.
If you haven’t already you need to create an about.me profile, this is similar to having an online business card for social media. There, you can write up a description about yourself, choose or upload a background image and add a photo of yourself (preferably a head shot, no random avatars) and add all the social sites you are active on, including your blog(s).
The About.me profile serves to not only minimize the amount of information added to e-mail signatures it is also great to have on other social sites so people can know where else they can find you. Long gone are the days where you list out every single social network you part-take in since it looks cluttered and unprofessional.
Today, About.me offers the ability to add your profile as a widget to your blog on WordPress, enabling for it to show your photo, description and social sites, eliminating many other widgets that you may have to add to gather the same information when instead this widget ties it all in nicely with your profile and anytime you make changes to About.me it will automatically update onto your blog, pretty nifty and convenient.
